About me: I have had poodles since 1998 but
have been "in dogs" all my life. Some of my experience
with them includes being a certified veterinary technician for
many years in a small animal clinic, an all breed obedience
instructor for nine years, a professional groomer as well as being
a breeder/owner/handler of show Whippets and finishing several
champions. I've spent many years studying genetics and breeding
principles as well as learning to analyze conformation and
movement in dogs and other animals.
Being an artist, my passion is breeding fine
dogs and having a hand in creating beautiful, sound and typical
representatives of the breed. All breeding stock is tested
for the usual health and hip concerns and while all of my
poodles are of a quality to finish their championships, I do not
choose to make the incredible commitment to maintaining all that
hair in show coat and the near constant confinement needed to
protect it. I am not preoccupied with the breed ring. My dogs are
my constant companions as they run and play on the beach, roll in
the muck at the horse barn or tear through the bushes on a hike.
I also enjoy oil painting, gardening and French Classical
Dressage riding. Raising great Standard Poodles is my passion, not
my livelihood.
