Show Prospect Compared With Pet Quality: A
prospective show quality puppy of any breed is one that an
experienced breeder feels is capable of finishing its AKC
championship and is free from any major faults according to that
particular breed standard. Show puppies have the proper
attitude, conformation and movement to compete in the Breed Ring.
There are a thousand variables to finishing a Champion, however,
(not to mention a huge financial commitment) and at the normal
puppy placing time of 8-12 weeks, they can only be a Show
Prospect. These puppies are of course sold with Full
Registration and
are priced accordingly.
A Companion/Pet quality puppy would be
one that is not, in the breeder's opinion, suited for
competition in the breed ring and should therefore not be bred
from. Breeders work hard to protect their reputations and years of
work and sell these puppies with Limited
Registration.
Your puppy may compete in agility trials, obedience trials,
tracking and non-AKC sanctioned fun matches. A limited
registration ensures that the dog will not be bred and any future
offspring from this dog may not be registered. Puppies with
limited registration are sold with spay or neuter contracts with a
Rebate
applied
to that cost. Spaying or neutering will help your companion live a
longer and healthier life. Both categories of puppies have
identical care, socialization and breeding.
Since high quality Standard Poodle puppies are
in great demand, I do accept and suggest a Deposit
to hold a puppy of your choice in an upcoming litter. You do not
have to place a deposit. Just call when the puppies are ready to
go to their new homes and see if any are left, if you prefer.
Seacrest cares that the puppies bred here will
become well rounded, well mannered citizens and family members and
good representatives of the Standard Poodle breed. I offer to all
new owners a Training
Rebate to
encourage them to enjoy their Poodle to the fullest. |
